Community Engagement

Projectit is dedicated to working collaboratively with individuals and groups to share knowledge, offer assistance, and create strong relationships with charitable organizations and community partners.

Through this effort, Guy Lazure has been dedicated to leading, organizing, and creating opportunities to share his experience and knowledge with others. This has led to meaningful partnerships with national and local chapters of PMI (Project Management Institute) for events such as the PMO Symposium and events hosted by Canada’s Technology Triangle Chapter.

Guy has continued to strive to impact the next generation of project managers through his work as an adjunct professor at the University of Waterloo, Conestoga College, and the University of Windsor. This has led to many hours of mentoring and coaching, developing meaningful relationships with the next generation of industry leaders.

Canadian Power Squadron

Guy has also been dedicated to supporting charitable organizations in their mission to help foster joy and positive change in his community through both passive and active means. This includes his work as the past Commander and active instructor of the Grand River Power & Sail Squadron, a local chapter of the CPS. Their mission is to make boating safer, environmentally responsible, and enjoyable through educational initiatives in local communities throughout Canada.

During his tenure, he oversaw the merger of the Cambridge and Kitchener chapters to form the Grand River Power & Sail Squadron, leveraging the strengths of each unit to form a more resilient and cohesive organization. The amalgamation ensured a more efficient operation, reduced duplicate costs to members, and increased the learning opportunities to offer a more comprehensive approach for the region.

Grand Philharmonic Choir

Guy has also been deeply connected with the work of the Grand Philharmonic Choir, as the vicechair and secretary of the board. Although Guy’s strengths do not naturally resound in the concert halls, he has recognized the positive and long-lasting impact this organization has had on the community.

The learning opportunities the organization offers through its children, youth and adult choirs have been a source of pride, offering a formal music education program including ear training, performance skills, voice production, sight-reading and music theory. Guy continues to be proud to support the ongoing fundraising and community outreach initiatives, while at the same time strengthening the organization’s overall operational sustainability and development.
